Sheet-Washing Frequency Planner
Choose an explicit washing interval, consider actual use, pets, perspiration and guest changes, then suggest a date and optionally download one calendar reminder.
The selected interval, explained due date and preferred-day adjustment, plus optional calendar download.
How this works
The attributed baseline is ACI’s specific laundry guide: sheets at least every two weeks, more often with substantial night perspiration. Its separate Cleaning 101 page and Sleep Foundation also give weekly guidance; Sleep Foundation suggests 3–4 days with pets in bed. These sources differ and are displayed rather than merged into a hygiene score. Your entered interval remains explicit and is never secretly shortened by pet or perspiration answers. The due date is the chosen starting date plus calendar days. A preferred weekday is moved to the latest occurrence on or before that due date, but never on/before the starting date; if impossible, retain the due date and explain it. A clean set before a new guest is a separate disclosed household rule. The optional download is a single all-day event without recurrence or identifying household inputs. No schedules enter storage or shared links.
Your date is transient and no household hygiene score is calculated. Current labels outrank generic washing temperatures.

Common questions
How often should I wash sheets if my dog sleeps on the bed?
Sleep Foundation suggests every 3–4 days with pets sleeping in bed. ACI’s specific sheet baseline is at least every two weeks, more often with substantial perspiration, while other guidance says weekly. Review actual use and choose an interval explicitly; pets do not create a scientific hygiene score.
Why do the published intervals differ?
They come from different guidance pages and contexts. The planner identifies them instead of presenting one universal schedule.
Does the planner change my interval automatically?
No. Pet and perspiration answers give reasons to consider a shorter interval, but your selected number is retained.
What happens when my laundry day falls after the due date?
The planner uses the latest preferred weekday on or before the due date. If that would be on/before the starting date, it keeps the due date and explains the conflict.
Does a calendar reminder contain my household answers?
No. It contains a generic wash-sheets title and date only. Download is explicit, single-event and optional; no account or automatic calendar connection is used.
Should I wait until the due date for a new guest?
No. The disclosed guest-change rule asks for a clean set before the next guest regardless of the calendar interval.
