Fabric GSM Calculator
Calculate dry fabric-sample grams per square meter from rectangular dimensions or measured area—not the weight of a finished sheet set.
Converted mass and area, visible division, original units and a sample-measurement limitation.
How this works
GSM = drySampleMassInGrams / sampleAreaInSquareMeters. Convert avoirdupois ounces with exactly 28.349523125 grams per ounce. Convert inches with exactly 0.0254 meters per inch and centimeters with 0.01 meters per cm. For rectangular samples multiply both converted dimensions; for direct area use 1 in² = 0.00064516 m² or 1 cm² = 0.0001 m². Require positive finite mass and area, retain original entries/units, and round only displayed output. A representative dry fabric sample must exclude seams, packaging, elastic, straps and other nonfabric components. This is transparent arithmetic, not a standardized lab test or a quality score. Abeero Home sample-measured GSM has not been supplied, so it stays unknown. Use the material finder and related guides to put your measurements into context.
Arithmetic only. Measurement precision and sample selection affect results; no laboratory uncertainty estimate is invented.

Common questions
How do I calculate sheet fabric GSM from a sample?
Weigh a representative dry fabric-only sample in grams or ounces, measure its complete area, convert to grams and square meters, then divide mass by area. The result shows each step.
Can I weigh a whole finished set?
Not for fabric GSM here. Seams, elastic, straps, packaging and other components add mass not represented by plain fabric area. Use a representative fabric-only sample.
What if my sample is not rectangular?
Use directly measured actual area, accounting for missing sections. Do not use an enclosing rectangle unless the sample completely fills it.
Why square the area conversion?
A rectangle has two linear dimensions. Converting each inch to 0.0254 meters makes one square inch 0.0254 × 0.0254 = 0.00064516 square meters.
Does a higher GSM mean better or cooler sheets?
No. GSM is sample mass per area only. It does not establish cooling, durability, comfort, thread count or fitted-sheet compatibility.
What is Abeero Home’s measured GSM?
Unknown in the current evidence. Supply representative fabric-sample measurement evidence before publishing a product GSM; finished-set weight is not a substitute.
